New Wipers > > I got a new set of wiper blades on my car (a Peugeot, made in France ). > > I think they mightbe too big because theyhang over the edges a little, but I don't care, theywork great and I would have to say that they are the only bladesI have everhad that I actually like to watch working. Call me crazy, but lately Ihave been driving around non-stop with them on. > > I've even been pulledover and the cop asked to go for a ride so he could watch them work.
They were outrageously expensive (being French), but safety is my main concern and like I said, they work great.

Angel was crying all last night so I lay on me front and put the pillow over me head and the noise was blocked out a little bit coz if it'd gone on much longer I would have done something like tried to suffocate myself but Lekisha said one time that you can't do that because something stops you from pressing the pillow so I didn't do anything I was going to be sorry about later. Mum says I'll be sorry about not going to school. You'll be sorry when you grow-up and can't get a job like your dad who went off and was a waste of space but I'm only eleven and don't really worry about not getting a job. Mrs Storey would like me to get a job as well and she's SATs mad. Angel is Lekisha's baby and everyone does everything for Lekisha because she's only fourteen. She wasn't supposed to have a kid but something went wrong with a condom she says, but not to me. But they all love the baby and I guess they all did that baby talk over me one time. The baby goes to a nursery every day because she's got something wrong with her lungs but you wouldn't believe that the way she can cry. She's got one of those tube things going up her nose. The baby kept me a wake all night.
Don't exaggerate, Daniel. You must have got some sleep Mrs Storey said and she sighed, like she was sick of hearing lies.
I got maybe six hours sleep coz I kept checking the clock I said.
Oh, Daniel, that's still not enough. You'll have to try and get to bed earlier.
And I said I've got too much things to do, Miss, I can't.
Yes, too many things and one of those things is your homework and you haven't done it -
But Miss -
I'm speaking. When I speak, you listen.
I wanted to punch something when she said that. Teachers always say stuff like that. It's like they learnt it in Robot Teacher School. She seemed to forget what she'd been saying and because she'd said that about speaking and listening she had to keep going on.
Now I know you want to get away and play football with your friends she said and I knew what was coming next and sure enough here it was. You're a very bright boy, Daniel. You could do so well if you applied yourself. I know it's tough at the moment. Things are really awful but you owe it to yourself to keep trying.
I've always done bad at school so what she was saying must be what she says to all the kids.
-Miss -
She started on about SATs and that but I couldn't take it in.
-I wish...she said but she stopped. She turned and stared at the slippers on the wall that we done in DT but I don't know why coz they'd been up there for months.
-Miss, I need the toilet.
She turned back to me and said Yes of course go to the toilet.
I was going to wet myself so I stood up. I ran out of the classroom and after I been to the toilet, I went straight out to the playground. I never looked back once so she wouldn't keep me there all dinner time.
Mrs Storey
We had our parents' evening this week so the parents you don't want to see turn up in spades, whereas the ones you desperately need to see never show. So Mr and Mrs Jones that you've been chatting to about Jones Junior at pick-up time most days turn up like the good pennies that they are. There's never much to say to them but they always keep you longer than the allotted fifteen minutes. No hope of seeing Daniel's mother. I did see her once and that was four years ago when Lekisha was in my class. The girl's come a long way since then, poor cow.
Daniel was falling asleep during most of the maths lesson. You expect it in a much younger child but at his age, you know something's wrong and you have to say something. Mrs Peters insists that he just needs a male role model in his life so she's appointed a young black guy as a learning support assistant to...to do what? It's a load of patronizing twaddle, of course. In the meantime this middle-aged white woman here needs to do her bit by the boy. It's all been said and done before with Lekisha and now it's his turn.
'But I didn't get any sleep last night, Miss.'
'Oh, Daniel. That can't be true, can it?' Can it?
'Well, I got six hours sleep coz I kept checking the clock,' he said.
What can you say to that? You know it's being going on for weeks. 'Oh, Daniel, that's still not enough. You'll have to try and get to bed earlier.' Perhaps I should have said, let's call in Social Services and have the lot of you put into care.
'I've got too much things to do, Miss. I can't.'
'Yes, too many things and unfortunately one of those things is your homework. Please don't worry about not doing -'
'But Miss -'
'No, I'm speaking so let me finish, please. This is important.' But I could see that the light had gone out in his face. His eyes had that look in them: Proceed at your own peril. His hands clenched into fists and I remembered the time he'd punched at a chair which had sent another child falling to the floor.
'I'd better let you get away and play some football with your friends.' I wanted to make that look go away before things went too far. I tried to flatter him because there didn't seem to be anything else to offer.
'You're a bright boy, Daniel. You could do well if you had the chance to apply yourself. I know it's tough at the moment but you owe it to yourself to keep trying as best you can.'
'Miss -'
I couldn't stop now. Mrs Peters' meeting about the SATs sprung into my mind like the remembrance of a bad dream. I just couldn't stop. 'And we've got SATs next month and I'd love to see you do well.' I'd like to see him do well but I know he won't, even with all the hot-housing in the world.
'Miss -'
'I wish...' There was nothing more for me to say.
Daniel said something about going to the toilet. He ran out of the classroom and I looked forward to getting to the staffroom and having a cup of tea. I wouldn't have to have another one of these talks for at least another week.
I'll be the first to admit; I am a scrub. I've only been 'into' ST for a few months now, and before that my only real experience with Street Fighter was Hyper Fighting on the SNES that I got used at a Blockbuster. Mom wasn't the most liberal with me so I didnt exactly have the ability to go to an arcade whenever I wanted, and I was an only child so no big brother to take me anywhere. I never really had the access to see all the big combos and stuff people were doing, so it really amounted to me and the few friends I had trying to do all the special moves on eachother.
Now I'm 22, and the arcade scene is all but dead. The only real place I have to go to play on a ST machine is Chinatown Fair, but that's 60 miles away. Thanks to GGPO I have a place to play with other people, and I've gotten a lot better, but I'm still nowhere near 'high-level' play. Hopefully that will change with HD Remix now that I'll have a Training mode and such.
In terms of the actual game though, I got to play it at SFC and I have totally fallen in love with it. Never before have I experienced such a case of blue balls waiting for a game. Since I got my hands on it I've been dying for more. As I left, some of the crew outside asked me what I thought. I said that I thought both SF4 and HD Remix were awesome, but that I was mainly there to see HD Remix. Ray Jimenez was pretty excited to hear that, said 'YEEEAAAAH, that's my BOY!" and came over and shook my hand.

Stop playing boy, you ain't dead, that beat flow too damn smooth to be old bags open...
12:19 pm I guess a cool hot minute won't hurt too bad? Am I wearing my badge, hey... You know... if Hootie did not say something right there... Thank you CPD, you already know he a fool, you told me thank you for including that in the report. I will do what I have been instructed to do. Thank you Reverend Hatch, now you see what I mean, if you did not see it for yourself, you would not know what I am talking about.
He was parked across the street in the beige car, sitting in the driver's seat the whole time. I was too into Hootie to look at first but when I saw where he was I knew it was time to go before he acted. I am not stupid, my path was laid, remember I PUBLISHED I was going to be in 60644 yesterday, after he told me I could come and see him, I scheduled to do so after court, while I was out and on the West Side.
We were supposed to be spendinh THANKSGIVING together but I think he forgot that too. The rule is so simple if he cannot honor it then fine.
Rule: When I Call it is to speak to my son, not his father, not his faher;s wife... Torrence Ezell Thomas Jr, but because his father... Michael, I mean Robert...
12:24 pm see this is why I don't turn on the radio when I think... what Mike, you know that is Jordan under cover freaky right, Robert Kelly don't make me spank you, where Batman, stop playing boy, get you pretty butt on stage and sing, WHAT!
12:25 pm Anyway, I got plenty kisses, I got some kisses, big juicy kisses, I can make you sceam kisses from Hootie Mamma's Suga Booty! I got some kisses...
'Y'know,' said the Scotsman, 'I still prefer the pubs back home. In Glasgow there's a little bar called McTavish's. Now the landlord there goes out of his way for the locals so much that when you buy four drinks he will buy the fifth drink for you.'
'Well,' said the Englishman, 'At my local, the Black Bull, the barman there will buy you your third drink after you buy the first two!'
'Ahhh, that's nothing,' said the Irishman. 'Back home in Dublin, there's Ryan's Bar. Now the moment you set foot in the place they'll buy you a drink, then another, all the drinks you like. Then when you've had enough drinks they'll take you upstairs and see that you get laid. All on the house.'
The Englishman and Scotsman immediately scorn the Irishman's claims, but he swears every word is true. 'Well,' said the Englishman, 'Did this actually happen to you?'
''Not me meself, personally, no,' said the Irishman, 'But it did happen to my sister.

After so much headache, heartache, wallet-ache (I can invent works, too!!) and loan-from-family-&-friends-ache (see, did it twice!) it looks like a wonderful job is on the horizon for our family!
(SIGH of relief)
In addition to the fact that I've already interviewed with a "mart" company for the holiday season (TWICE!!) and they've checked my references, there is a good possibility that I will get some work to supplement our income of zero dollars in the past few months. (Other than gifts from friends, family and church members...)
PLUS, today, Voldemort went on a job interview for another trucking company because he's not worked since just before the election. This one is a dedicated route, and pending his drug test and corporate approval (because the job's through an owner/operator with more than one truck) he'll get the job.
What it means: We'll be able to pay back the nearly $4000 we've had to borrow between our friends and family over the past year. ($700/month rent, $100-$300 per month for heat and lights in our crappy rental house that has more drafts than a draft pick for a football league, $200/month for car insurance that we legally HAVE to have on our car... we've not been in trouble long, but it's obviously been expensive!).
We applied for food stamp help in the middle of October and have heard nothing. They're "really backed up" and our caseworker has been on vacation for the last two weeks. We're busy "starving to death" because she needed a vacation?!? Unbelievable! Thank God for our church family and actual family, or we would have actually starved to death. Their guidance and willingness to help us obtain food bank info really saved us. That and the groceries, ;)
Hopefully we'll still get approved for food stamps, because it will mean that we can catch up faster, instead of spending our money on food right away, we can fend off the utility wolves, you know? We also would need to use some of that money for gas or bus tickets so we can GET to work, you know? Not to mention uniforms and stuff like that.
Even if we don't get approval, hopefully we'll manage. Our family will just have to wait for that money, though it makes for an awkward Christmas season...
IF anyone has resources this Christmas season, please consider donating to things like "Toys for Tots" or something like that. I know our kids have only $100 spent between the two of them with a points reward gift card - from Volde's moving days when he would OTR and stay at a hotel. When you look at toy prices and look at $50/kid including tax, we've ended up with 2 decent toys per child, and no stocking stuffers. I may have to tell my eldest that there is no real Santa this year so she's not wondering why she got next to nothing for Christmas this year, or wonders what she did to upset Santa... (And she's been SOOOO good!!!)
Is it better to believe Santa stopped loving you, or know there is no such person, and your parents did their best????? I mean... neither one's got the spirit of Christmas in the message. Which one is the right thing to do? Wait and see? Hope someone at church magically hears the spirit and shows up with a bag full of toys for them? Or do I contact my local toys for tots program and see if we qualify? Tons of unanswers.
Hopefully, something works. I just hope we don't have to ruin her Christmas by telling her on that day, should she ask. Maybe we will get an armfull of presents from a well-wisher, or maybe the family will cover for us by getting stocking stuffers for THEIR homes, so we can pick up the gifts and visit for a while... You never know.

Well things are just headed south for me these days.
Was looking forward to a decent year, but the league I bowl on folded 2wks into the season.
Working nights makes it impossible to bowl other nights.Bowl on Sat. afternoon, but a very small league.Other problem is when the tournaments are held on weekends..our league.. well cancel that week.Oh because its a small league the rest of the lanes are open play most are young kids with flash cameras out for a good time.
Same goes for getting any practice in..house is full of young children that just run all over the place..like up and down the approach.Almost wiped out an 8 yr old because the kid ran in front of me as I started my delivery.Night time on the weekends well moonlight bowling..
Really thinking of packing it in myself as my ave. well just sucks..down to 164.No heart feel,or drive anymore. You know the end is near when you throw 130 games and just shrug your shoulders, and say oh well.Even when you do throw a good 200+ game there just isn't any emotion.

YES, I am still harping on this subject.
Qwest will discontinue there Choice TV service in February 2009.
I am still looking for a provider that has the Outdoor Channel in there list of networks available.
Cox does not offer it. Period
Dish Network and Direct TV only offers it in their most expensive packages. 75% of which I will never watch.
I am thinking about hooking up a computer to my 56" flat screen and watching the Outdoor Channel programs directly off of this website. But if I go that route, it may actually make more sense to cancel all TV providers and hang out an antenna, for local programming, and watching all my shows off of the internet.
